Privacy policy

This policy explains how Jakuro Media ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit jakuro.com, book a call or contact us. We are the data controller for this information under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.

What we collect
- Enquiry form: your name, email address, business name, website or social handle, the services you're interested in, your approximate marketing budget and anything you write in your message.
- Call bookings: when you book through our scheduling tool (Calendly), your name, email address, the time you choose and any answers you give to booking questions.
- Emails: anything you send us directly by email.
- Technical data: our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the website.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, hold the strategy call you booked and follow up about our services. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To keep the website secure and working properly (legitimate interest).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations if you become a client (legal obligation).
We do not sell your data, and we will not add you to a marketing mailing list without your consent.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Netlify: website hosting and enquiry form submissions.
- Calendly: call scheduling.
- Google Fonts: delivers the typefaces used on this site, which involves your browser connecting to Google's servers.
- Our email provider, for emails you send to us.
Some of these providers are based in, or transfer data to, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
Our own website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The embedded Calendly booking calendar may set cookies needed to make scheduling work; see Calendly's privacy notice. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking details for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as needed for the work and to meet legal and tax requirements, typically six years.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@jakuro.com. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
